KARACHI: CDD holds elections

KARACHI, May 6: Elections for the office holders and governing body of the Centre for Development and Democracy were held on Sunday, says a press release.

In the general body meeting, Taher A. Khan, chairman of Interflow Group, took over the charge as chairman CDD, as the elected chairman, Nafees Siddiqi, has gone on leave.

Dr Ikhtiar Baig, Byram D. Avari and Sajjad Mir were elected vice-chairmen and Ahsan Mukhtar Zubairi, Salahuddin Haider and Nasira Zubairi were elected joint secretaries.

Kazi Asad Abid and Irshad Chaudhry were elected general secretary and treasurer respectively.

Sultan Ahmed, Afzal Sindhu and Wazir Jogezai were elected president of the Karachi chapter, president of the Lahore chapter and president of the Islamabad chapter respectively.

Members of the governing body include Makhdoom Khaliquzzaman, Mahmood Sham, Ghulam Qadir Palejo, Mutahir Hussain, Rahim Brohi, Mohammad Iqbal Khan, Raheel Nafees Siddiqi, Wazir H. Rizvi, Shahid Naqvi, Ahsan Tayyab Ali, Azizuddin Khan, Sajjad Akhtar, Shahwar Rahim, Shamimur Rahman Alvi, Mahfooz Yar Khan and Anwar Tata.
