Accident victim denied treatment

By Our Correspondent

JHANG, May 3: The local union of journalists has condemned negligence of the doctors and staff at the District Headquarters Hospital for denying treatment to a journalist brought to the emergency ward after an accident.

At a meeting here on Friday, the journalists slammed the callous attitude of the MS and doctors in the emergency ward.

Khurram Saeed, a correspondent with a local daily, sustained grievous injuries in an accident. He was taken to the DHQ Hospital where doctors on duty refused to provide him first aid.

The journalist’s father approached the MS who also turned down his imploring. The injured kept lying unattended in the corridor of the hospital.

Later, he was taken to the Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, after eight hours of the accident.

Local District Bar President Shaikh Hamid Abdullah and Anjuman-i-Tajran President Haji Muhammad Ali have also condemned the callousness of the doctors on duty.
