LARKANA, May 3: At least 102 missing children were reunited with their parents within two months due to the efforts of the Khidmat-I masoom, Larkana.
Anwer Khokhar, the only one who operates the trust, told Dawn on Friday that during the month of March, 57 children had gone missing and he delivered them safely to their parents. He added that their ages ranged between three to 13 years and most of them went missing from the remote and kutchi abadis.
Out of 57 missing children 15 were girls in the month of March.
In the month of April, he passed on 44 missing children to their parents and only one, Dilmurad son of Mohammed Qasim Shar aged 6 years, is still untraced.
He disclosed that two children Rafique Hulio aged 8 years and Rahim Chandio aged 8 years who had been missing since May and July 2001 were still not located. He added that since the start of the trust he had delivered 3945 children to their parents.
He appealed to President Gen Pervez Musharraf to announce the restoration of all the sacked employees of Sui Gas and other departments so that their families could be saved from starvation.
MAN KILLED: One man was killed and another injured in the city on Friday.
The man, Rannal son of Gulsher Barriro and his relative, Rajib Ali, came under fire by unknown armed men near the Tank chowk, while returning home after attending the hearing of a case at session court.
Rannal died on the spot while Rajib Ali received bullet injuries and admitted in the Chandka Medical College Teaching Hospital.
The assailants escaped the scene.
Dari police have registered an FIR against Azhar Barriro and four unknown people.
The murder was said to be a result of old enmity. It is said that Rannal had allegedly killed Abdul Rehman Barriro, a resident of village Nek Muhammed Barriro, five years ago.
KIDNAPPED: Four unidentified armed men kidnapped a man, Abid Hussain son of Alisher Leghari, on Thursday from Chakar Khan Leghari village in the jurisdiction of Sanjjar Bhatti police station, while he was sleeping in an autaq.
