JAMRUD, May 2: Political administration of Jamrud Khyber Agency has arrested 10 criminals, including car lifters and robbers, in a campaign against anti-social elements in tribal areas during the last one week.

The administration also destroyed poppy crop on 60 kanals in Lachora and Ghundi villages of Jamrud tehsil, says an official handout issued by assistant political agent.

He said the Khasadar Force foiled three robbery attempts on the Jamrud-Landi Kotal Road and arrested Jamruz son of Kashmir Katia Khel, a notorious drug peddler, Asghar Khan, Walayat Shah and Akhtar Ali for their involvement in robberies.

The authorities also recovered a stolen car from Zaman Bazaar and a motorcycle with fake documents from Haji Mohammad. Both were arrested and vehicles were impounded.

Another car lifter Sher Shah was arrested in Mania Khel village. All of them have been locked up in Jamrud prison.
