ISLAMABAD, April 28: Islamabad chapter of the senior Alumni association of Islamia College Peshawar launched on Saturday a welfare fund for scholarships and awards to deserving students of their Alma Mater.

According to a press release seed money of Rs200,000 was voluntarily contributed by members at the annual general council meeting on April 27 with promises of more funds.

As the title indicates the association is body of senior students of Islamia College Peshawar. A sub-committee was set up to draft the rules to award scholarships and medals of merit.

Principal of Islamia College Peshawar Mr Mussarrat Hussain Shah, who attended the meeting by special invitation, informed the Alumni of the recent projects in hand to raise the educational standards of the college.
