QUETTA, April 27: The two-member mission of the Special Independent Commission (SIC), for convening the Loya Jirga in Afghanistan, has completed their consultation with the Afghan displaced persons living in the refugee camps in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan, here on Saturday evening.

Around 2,000 Afghan displaced persons living in the camps out side of provincial capital participated in the consultations.

Representatives of the refugees from all refugee camps, taking part in the deliberations, announced full support to convening the Loya Jirga. They vowed to play their due role in the reconstruction of Afghanistan so that the refugees living in Pakistan and Iran could go back to their country.

The leaders— Haji Naimatullah Nurzai, Hameed Karzai and others— also supported the efforts of interim Afghan leader Hamid Khan Karzai he was making for Afghanistan. They welcomed the return of former King Zahir Shah, and expressed the hope that he would play elderly role being peace and order in Afghanistan.

Representatives of the Afghan refugees belonging to different ethnic groups and tribes presented their suggestions for convening the Loya Jirga.

The members of the SIC speaking on the occasion informed the participants that they were consulting the Afghans living out of Afghanistan to choose their real representatives for the Loya Jirga scheduled be held in Kabul in June next.
