SUKKUR, April 27: A man and a woman were killed in Jacobabad over the pretext of Karo-kari while another man was killed 13 injured in two separate armed clashes over Karo-kari disputes in Kandhkot on Saturday.

Some gunman shot Abdul Wahab Brohi dead and injured his friend Mir Hasan while they were going to their homes on a motorcycle in Jacobabad.

Later, the gunman reached Brohi’s home and killed his sister-in-law, Rahima.

One of the killers was identified as Baggan Loher.

Police sources claimed that it was a Karo-kari motivated incident.

In Kandhkot a clash erupted between two groups of Dahani and Bijarani tribes as a result Akber Dahani was killed while 10 others, including Asghar Ali Bijarani, Gul Mohammad Dahani and Soomar Khan, were injured.

In another incident in Kandhkot, three persons, Ali Mohammad, Yar Mohammad and Mir Ahmed, were wounded seriously when the two groups of the Panhyar clan fought over a Karo-kari dispute.

No arrest was reported.

FIRE: At least 33 huts and a rice mill were gutted when fire broke out in the Peryo village, near Garhi Yaseen, some 30kms from Sukkur, the other day.
