KARACHI: Eight cars, 11 bikes taken away

KARACHI, April 24: At least 19 vehicles — eight cars and eleven motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen from different parts of the city on Wednesday, police said.

Three cars were hijacked and five stolen from Gulshan, Saddar, New Town and Clifton. Six motorcycles were hijacked and five stolen by the bandits from Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, Gulberg and Saddar.

Police claimed recovery of seven cars and five motorcycles from different parts of the city.

ROBBERIES: Bandits robbed two owners of transport companies in the Rexerlane area while the owners of an oil depot were looted in the Baldia police limits.

Police claimed to have smashed several gangs of dacoits operating in the city.

ACCIDENT: A young girl died in a road accident in Orangi Town on Wednesday.

Police said that Khalida, aged 7, was crossing a road when a speeding vehicle knocked her down. The victim was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. But she died on the way.
