Bangladesh, Maldives teams arrive

KARACHI, April 23: Bangladesh and Maldives Under-20 football squads reached Karachi Monday night to participate in Asian youth U-20 championship qualifying rounds commencing from April 25 to 29, 2002 at People’s Stadium Complex, Karachi.

The qualifiers featuring hosts Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Maldives. The Srilankan football team has already reached Pakistan.

The spokesman of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) told PPI, that FIFA and AFC officials have also reached Pakistan including match commissioner, referee inspector, three FIFA referees and four assistant FIFA referees.

According to a PFF spokesman Pakistan television will telecast live matches of tournament.—PPI
