KARACHI: Five cars, 11 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, April 23: Sixteen vehicles — five cars and 11 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Tuesday, police said.

Four cars were hijacked and one was stolen in Korangi Industrial Area, Gulshan-i-Iqbal and Saddar police limits.

Seven motorcycles were hijacked and four others stolen in Samanabad, Baghdadi and Sachal police limits.

Police also claimed on Tuesday to have recovered three cars and five motorcycles in the city.

SHOT DEAD: A young man was shot dead in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.

Police said Khubaid Ahmed, aged 34, was found shot dead at a deserted place in Block 13 in Gulistan-i-Jauhar. He received three bullet wounds.

The body was sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem. Hailing from Rajanpur area in Punjab, the dead man at one time worked with the Airport Security Force, police said. A duty officer at Gulistan-i-Jauhar police station said the dead man had no permanent place to live in the city.
