Six killed in Kashmir


SRINAGAR, April 22: Six people were killed in occupied Kashmir on Monday.

Police arrested a prominent human rights activist, officials said on Monday.

Indian troops claimed killing three members of the Jaish-i-Mohammad in the village of Dardpora, Kupwara district, during a six-hour encounter sparked when Indian forces mounted a cordon and search operation, police said.

Two more Mujahideen and a civilian were also killed in clashes elsewhere.—AFP
