LAHORE, April 22: Zia-ul-Hassan Khan and Muhammad Nazir Bajwa were  elected as president and secretary, respectively, of the Punjab Rowing Association (PRA) Monday.

New office-bearers:

President: Ziaul Hasan Khan.

Senior-vice-president: Professor Muhammad Aslam Hassan.

Vice-presidents: Ayaz Ali Khan, Arslan Umar, Amjad Ahmad Bajwa.

Secretary-general: Muhammad Nazir Bajwa.

Joint-secretary: Z.A Dar.

Associate secretaries: Abrar Ahmad Khan, Malik Abdul Bashir, Muhammad Younis Chaudhary, Bashir Ahmed Shaheen.

Honorary treasurer: Z A Qureshi.

Member executive: Malik Muhammad Afzal, Muhammad Siddique Chaudhary, Imtiaz Ahmad Khan, Zahid Ali Qureshi, Niaz Ahmad Furrakh, Samiullah Khan, Muhammad Jafar, Naseem Mughal, Gulzar Ahmad, Dr Munir Husain Ansari.

Later, the elected body decided that the first inter-district rowing championship will be held in the last week of July.

It was also decided that a Boat House approved by the government will be constructed at River Ravi on the land already taken on lease. A committee headed by Z.A Qureshi has been constituted to prepare feasibility report on self help basis.
