MULTAN, April 21: Ten persons were killed and eight others injured when a speeding wagon rammed into a roadside tree while negotiating a sharp turn near Adda Quarter, Chak no 215/EB, at Burewala-Lahore Road, some 45 kilometres away from Sahiwal.
Four passengers died on the spot and the rest on their way to Guggu hospital, and after reaching Burewala hospital.
According to details, a wagon, SLF-9675, was going from Sahiwal to Arifwala. When it reached near Adda Quarter, the driver lost control and it crashed into a tree at around 11am resulting in the instant death of four passengers.
The deceased were identified as Muhammad Shafiq (driver), Alamgir Bhatti son of Rustam Ali Bhatti, Muhammad Alamgir Bhatti son of Ghulam Muhammad Bhatti, Raqia Bibi, Shabbir Ahmed, Ilyas Masih, Iqbal Masih. The remaining three could not identified.
The injured included Khadija Bibi (Multan), Razia Bibi and her husband Muhammad Ahmed (Chak 307/eb) and another person Muhammad Aslam (Karampur).
Police have registered case and have started investigations. —APP
