SRINAGAR, April 16: Three people were killed and 27 wounded when a landmine went off in a market in occupied Kashmir on Tuesday as an Indian army patrol was passing by.

Seven soldiers were wounded in the blast at the market in Aawntipora town, south of Srinagar, a police official said.

The three dead were civilians, he said.

“The explosion in Aawntipora’s main market damaged two army vehicles. Three civilians died in the explosion and 20 were injured,” the police official said.

At least another nine people were killed and 20 wounded in other incidents in the held state on Monday night and Tuesday.

Two civilians were killed in an explosion in Doda district, while four Mujahideen and three civilians were killed in separate clashes.—Reuters
