SUKKUR, April 16: The Jacobabad police on Monday arrested 70 activists of the PML (N), including its Sindh chief, on the charges of making speeches against referendum and passing indecent remarks about President Gen Pervez Mushar-raf at the Jamali House, Jacobabad.
Those who were arrested include the former governor of Sindh and president of the PML (N), Sindh, Mamnoon Hussian, the former foreign secretary, Akram Zaki, the member of the central executive committee, Imdad Hussain Cholyani, the president of the Youth Wing, Sindh, Abdul Razzak Aasi, the president, PML (N), Sukkur, Pir Ali Shah, the publicity secretary of the PML (N), Dr. Taj, the vice president of the PML (N), Balochistan and others.
The FIR No. 34/2002 was registered with city police Jacobabad under the section of the MPO 16, 153, E-124, Loudspeaker amplifier No.3, 4, and 5.
According to the FIR, which was registered against the leadership of the party, the speakers of the meeting, which was held in Jacobabad on Monday, used filthy language against President Pervaz Musharraf.
