KARACHI, April 16: A case of beating up of KESC officials has been registered against the FIA officials on Tuesday.

The KESC officials were beaten up by the FIA sleuths when they went to disconnect power supply to the office of Deputy Director FIA (Telecommunication) for non-payment of KESC dues amounting to Rs 570,000.

Sources said the KESC had issued them notice of disconnection in February and a few days back the KESC team went to the FIA office at Barrack No 48 A, Pakistan Secretariat, to disconnect the power supply but the FIA officials caught the KESC team and thoroughly beat the team members. Later, an army team disconnected the power supply of FIA office and secured release of the KESC team and the MTL.

On a report from the KESC, the Artillery Maiden Police registered a case FIR No 79/2002 Under Section 353/342/147/ 147/34 against FIA officials Abbas Baloch, Akber Baloch and 16 to 17 others.
