Bureau Report

HYDERABAD, April 16: The executive committee of the All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association decided to stop the supply of oil throughout the country if their eight point charter of demands was not accepted within 24 hour.

The decision was taken at a meeting held here on Tuesday under the championship of Saif-ur-Rehman Khalil.

The owners parked scores of oil tankers at different petrol pumps between Hatri and the Hyderabad by-pass and staged a protest sit-in at the by- pass off the road to press for the acceptance of their demands.

Their demands included the refund of 17 paisas per litre to the tanker owners with effect from October 1, 2000 as per the order of the federal ministry of petroleum and natural resources, return of the illegal deduction of petrol and handing over the control of queue system to the association.

The association has further demanded that the movement executive officers Zareef and Shahzad be transferred from Hyderabad and deduction of Rs5,000 per month on the pretext of registration fee be stopped.
