RAWALPINDI, April 15: The additional district and session judge, Mohammad Sarwar Sidhu, on Monday awarded death sentence to two persons convicted of smuggling drugs.
The two convicts, Kitabi Noor and Abdur Rauf, were arrested by Rawat police while trying to smuggle 625 kilograms of charas to Rawalpindi from Peshawar. The court also imposed a Rs0.5 million-fine on the two convicts.
The same court also awarded seven years imprisonment to Mohammad Habib for selling drugs.
He was arrested by the Rawat police while selling charas to addicts.
Meanwhile, the additional district and session judge, Mohammad Aazam Mian, awarded death sentence to Mohammad Ashraf.
The Waris Khan police had arrested the convict on murder charges. According to police report he killed Mohammad Rafiq with a pistol on November 2, 2000.
The additional district and sessions judge, Malik Mohammad Akram Awaan, awarded life imprisonment and Rs0.1million fine to two persons arrested on charges of smuggling drugs.
