Three killed in tribal clash

SUKKUR, April 13: Three people were killed in a clash between Mahers and Jatois in Budh village, near Chak, some 15 kilometres away from here, on Saturday.

Two person of Jatoi tribe, Hadi Bux alias Uddu, son of Ali Mohammad, and his brother, Riazat, were working on the agricultural field when gunmen of Maher tribe raided the field. The gunmen opened fire and killed both the brothers.

Later, the Jatois raided the village of Maher tribe, opened fire and killed one person, Nabi Bux, son of Mihar Maher, and kidnapped Rahim Bux Maher.

Later, police chased the kidnappers and forced the kidnappers to set free the hostage.

The incident created panic and harassment in the area. Check-posts were established in the area.

Mahers and Jatois are at war for last six months over some land dispute. So far, ten persons of both the tribes had been killed.

CLASH: Three men were injured in an armed clash between two groups of Shar and Bhutto clansmen over a land dispute near Raunti Forest area, Ghotki district, the other day.
