TOBA TEK SINGH, April 13: The district council has urged the local police chief to register a case against Gojra ASI who allegedly received Rs45,000 as a bribe in a murder case.

During a session on Saturday, council member Chaudhry Saifullah Cheema presented a motion against ASI Rana Javed.

District Nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq assured the house that the ASI would be suspended. The house also demanded the Kamalia SP to check increasing incidents of crime in the locality.

On the complaints of bribery by district officer (revenue), a member of the ruling desk informed that the chief secretary had transferred the officer.

The members also demanded the government that general sales tax on medicines should be withdrawn forthwith.
