Decision on Afghan poll date today

KABUL, April 12: A final decision will be made on Saturday about the timing of the elections to choose delegates to the Afghan tribal council that will meet in June to select a new government, a member of the election commission said on Friday.

“The commission is meeting to make a final determination about the dates of the elections,” said Aslam Akrami, the managing administrator of the special commission for the convening of the Loya Jirga.—dpa
