SIALKOT, April 10: Anti-Islamic forces particularly the US are employing every tactics to enslave the Muslims around the world.

This was stated by World Islamic Mission chairman and Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP) chief Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani while speaking to a gathering at Pasrur late Tuesday night.

He charged that the Musharraf government was playing in the hands of the US and the slogan of liberal Muslims was raised at its beck and call to crush the religious parties.

“The foreign interference in our internal affairs has increased alarmingly as several airports have been handed over to them at their discretion”, he said.

“The US is responsible for the killing of a large number of innocent Muslims, particularly the genocide of Palestinians at the hands of Israeli forces”, he said.

He urged the Muslims of all sects to get united at one platform to combat the anti-Islamic forces.

MOVEOVER: As many as 65 veterinary health officers of the animal health directorate, Punjab Livestock Department, have been given moveover from grade 18 to 19.

A notification to this effect was issued here on Wednesday.

Indian firing: A youth sustained critical wounds on Wednesday in firing by Indian troops on Thathi Khurd village in the Sialkot working boundary’s Sucheetgarh sector.

Sources said Muhammad Shams (20) was sitting in the courtyard of his house when some bullets hit him, injuring him grievously. He was rushed to the Sialkot CMH in critical condition.

After a day of respite, the Indian troops on Wednesday again resorted to firing on villages in working boundary’s Chhumb Joriyaan (Gujrat), Bajwat, Charwa, Sucheetgarh, Jammu, Akhnoor, Saamba and Shakargarh-Narowal sectors, badly disrupting the sowing of seasonal crops.

No casualty has yet been reported.

SHELL DEFUSED: The local bomb disposal squad on Wednesday defused a high-intensity Indian shell at Tarkaliyan village, Sialkot Saddar.

Sources said the villagers had found the shell from a field while ploughing. They said the unexploded shell weighing 12 pounds had been fired by Indian troops during the war in 1971.

PATWARI DIES: A patwari on Wednesday died after drinking poisonous liquor at Municipal Park Muhallah, Pasrur.

Shakil Ahmad had purchased the toxic wine from a drug pusher at Pasrur.
