KARACHI, April 8: Five ships including Norma to load 33,000 tons of molasses are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Ship movements on the wharves were modest nine ships were berthed and departed, the berth occupancy being zero at the oil piers as no tanker was berthed and 28 per cent on the dry wharves.

Berthing activity at the wharves was brisk where six ships, PONL Everest, Global Prosperity, Bombay Star, Hyundai Future, MSC Don Giovanna to unload and load containers and Hua Shan to offload general cargo were berthed after the sailing of three.

The departing ships were led by Sima Roja, Hyundai Future and Johar, while Bunga Mas Empat, Ginga Kite, Bombay Star, Kota Selam, PONL Everest and MSC Don Giovanna are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Owing to lesser handling of the liquid tonnage, the total tonnage fell to 29,484 tons comprising 9,912 tons of export cargo and 19,572 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Norma, to load molasses, Wan Hai-231 Mildburg, Winco Feeder, to unload and load containers, Banglar Maya to offload 5,227 tons of jute.
