Nepal, BD urge anti-poverty steps


ISLAMABAD, April 7: The finance ministers of Bangladesh and Nepal on Sunday called for joint efforts by the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) member countries to combat poverty and to improve the living standard of their people.

Talking to newsmen at Islamabad International Airport, they said that they were committed to alleviating poverty.

Minister for finance Shaukat Aziz and senior officials of the ministry of finance and planning received the guests at the airport.

The finance minister of Bangladesh M. Saif-ur-Rehman in his remarks said: “We are committed to bringing about a better life for the people of this region”.—APP
