PESHAWAR, April 7: President Pervez Musharraf is likely to launch his referendum campaign from Bannu, a southern district of the NWFP.
The President is scheduled to address a public meeting in Bannu on April 10 to muster support for the coming referendum, likely to be held in the first week of May, says a press release issued from the provincial secretariat of PML-Q here on Sunday.
Saifullah brothers have started a campaign for the scheduled public meeting. The provincial chief of PML-Q, Salim Saifullah Khan, has welcomed President Pervez Musharraf’s decision to hold referendum to extend his tenure for five years.
The party’s central working committee had decided to support referendum in order to endorse the President reforms agenda in the country.
Mr Khan said he believed the President’s agenda would not only bring political and economic stability, but would also pave the way for the restoration of real democracy in the country.
