Daylight saving introduced

ISLAMABAD, April 6: Clocks were moved forward an hour, to GMT plus six hours, at midnight (1900 GMT) all over the country, in line with a government directive.

Thus Pakistan became the only country in S. Asia to change its clocks for the summer.

Benefits of daylight saving time include more time for leisure after work and lower power consumption, it said. The change means Pakistan will be 30 minutes ahead of India, which stretches more than 2,000km to the east.—Reuters
