Water inflow increased from 2500 cusecs to 5000 cusecs but no improvement was seen in the distributaries of the Jamrao, Mithrao and Thar canals.

The growers continued their protests against irrigation officials at Samaro, Kunri, Kot Ghulam Mohammad, Digri, Tando Jan Mohammad, Digri, Naokot, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Khipro and other areas.

The sowing of cotton was adversely affected due to stoppage of water.

The growers and landlords accused irrigation officials, including SDO Samaro, of selling their share of water to influential landlords after taking bribe.

They demanded a high level inquiry into the alleged corrupt practices of the SDO and his suspension.

The arrest has been made on the complaint of darogha Mohammad Saleem.

He said that during his surprise visit of Sanwari Shakh, he found landlords Mohammad Sharif and Kabeer Ahmed stealing water by tampering watercourse No.11-R.
