SSB declares polls illegal

Published April 5, 2002

KARACHI, April 4: The standoff between Sindh Sports Board (SSB) and Sindh Football Association (SFA) on the issue of later’s elections issue took another turn when Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) termed the polls legal.

“The elections were held according to the new sports policy and we are satisfied and consider them legal, a PFF official said.

The SSB had said it considered last month’s polls as illegal since they had not been held according to the newly-formulated sports policy and without the presence of a SSB observer.

The PFF official said according to the sports policy the PFF was responsible for holding the elections.
