JWP sees plot to induct armymen into gasfield

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, April 4: The Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) on Thursday denied reports regarding firing of rockets on Sui and Loti gasfields in Dera Bugti district.

JWP spokesman Shahid Hussain Bugti, in a statement, alleged that such stories were released by the gas companies with the blessing of some government agencies to achieve their designs.

He said the government was working on the same line as happened in 1995-96, when an atmosphere of terror forced a large number of gas company employees to flee the area, rendering hundreds of people jobless, while the vacancies were distributed among non-locals.

“The same government agencies, once again, with the cooperation of gas companies, are repeating the events of 1995-96 to deprive the local population of their rightful share in the gas company jobs,” Mr Bugti said.

He said some elements wanted to pave the way for a government operation on the pretext of law and order situation.

They also want to continue inducting non-local people, particularly serving and retried armymen, into the gasfiled, as they have been inducted in other public sector organizations, brining them to the brink of disaster, he said.
