HYDERABAD, April 4: The regional head, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA), Eijaz Majeed said on Thursday that the SMEDA would be opening its office in Hyderabad soon to cater to the needs of the entrepreneurs of the region.

He was addressing the members of the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) on a visit to its secretariat.

He said that the SMEDA would work in close collaboration with the HCCI to promote small and medium-size enterprises in the region, and added that the SMEDA was formulating small and medium enterprises friendly policies.

He also briefed the HCCI about the activities of SMEDA and the services it would offer to the entrepreneurs of the region.

He was welcomed by the president of the HCCI, Haji Yousuf Suleman, and other office bearers.

The HCCI identified many bottle necks which were impeding the growth of small and medium industries, and highlighted the difficulties being faced by the entrepreneurs in obtaining loans from the banks.

TEACHERS ASSOCIATION: The executive council, Sindh Agriculture University Teachers Association (SAUTA), Tando Jam, at a meeting held on Thursday took strong exception to the letters of explanation issued to almost all the members of the executive council as well as the SAUTA members by the university administration.
