LAKKI MARWAT, April 2: Political circles have criticised the new delimitations of provincial assembly in Lakki Marwat but have lauded the creating National Assembly seat comprised for Lakki Marwat district.

They however, appreciated that the addition of another seat in Lakki Marwat in the provincial assembly and said that the need for a second seat was long been felt.

Advocate Faridullah Khan Minakhel, former chairman of district Khidmat committee and local Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader criticising  the new delimitation  of constituencies for provincial assembly in Lakki Marwat has said that the intention behind the delimitation is based on bringing some circles into power which is undemocratic. He claimed that these groups have remained in power through back doors.

He also added that the 33 councils could be divided into three provincial  assemblies seats, 11 union councils into  each constituency, but the election commission and authorities concerned have mixed such parts of the district into different constituencies where certain families and groups had always been at loggerheads. In such position, he added, a threat of bloodshed was apprehended. He demanded of the government to divide the district in three equal provincial constituencies and each comprising eleven union councils. He blamed government of paving way for some opportunist forces.

He called upon the authorities to review the delimitation the provincial assembly seats according to the wishes of the people of Lakki Marwat.

He warned that if the demand was not met the public would come on the roads in protest.
