SIALKOT, April 2: A three-member delegation of UK-based farm scientists on Tuesday visited various farm machinery manufacturing units in Daska tehsil.

Mr Peter Hob, Mr Pet Wal and Mr Graige Maizer appreciated the performance of the newly-introduced advanced ‘zero tillage technology’ and termed it vital for enhancing the agriculture production.

Talking to Dawn, they announced that the zero tillage world organization would soon recommend effective measures for the promotion of ultra-modern technology all over the world.

As Daska is a good machinery producer, they said, the manufacturers could capture the world market by exporting the best quality.

SHELLING: The Indian security forces on Tuesday continued shelling in various villages of the Sialkot working boundary, official sources told Dawn.

The villages targeted included Chhumb, Joriyaan (Gujrat), Bajwat, Charwa, Harpal, Sucheetgarh, Chaprar, Jammu, Akhnoor, Saamba and Shakargarh-Narowal. Seven more houses were damaged while sowing of sunflower and watermelon crops was disrupted, the sources said.

There was no let-up in exchange of shelling between the Indians and the Chenab Rangers till last reports came in.
