ISLAMABAD, April 1: President Pervez Musharraf plans to visit Afghanistan soon, possibly as early as Tuesday, government officials said on Monday.
Afghanistan’s interim leader Hamid Karzai invited Musharraf to Kabul during a visit to Pakistan in February, and Pakistani officials said Musharraf was planning to take up the offer soon.
“The dates are being worked out,” foreign ministry spokesman Aziz Ahmed Khan told a news conference on Monday. The sources said the visit could start as early as Tuesday, but said the exact date had not been announced for security reasons.—Reuters
