FAIRYHOUSE (Ireland), April 1: The Bunny Boiler, a 12-1 chance ridden by Ross Geraghty, survived a final-fence blunder to win the Irish Grand National Monday.
The eight-year-old completed a big-race double after winning the English Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter last month.
The Bunny Boiler loomed alongside 25-1 shot Give Over at the last fence on the 5.8km stamina-test but looked to have blown his chance with an ugly jump which almost unseated Geraghty.
The jockey recovered, however, to run out a one-and-a-half length winner, with 40-1 outsider Northern Sound third of the 17 runners.
