Concern over shifting of C&W wing

By Our Correspondent

SARGODHA, April 1: District Nazim Muhammad Saleem has expressed concern over the proposal to shift the architecture wing of the C&W department from Sargodha to Lahore.

In a statement on Monday, he said that it would hamper the completion of development works within stipulated time.

The Nazim said that development works worth Rs300 million were carried out annually in the district. The shifting of the wing office would also cause inconvenience to the people coming from Mianwali, Bhakkar and Khushab.

He said that it was strange that the offices of the architecture wing at divisional headquarters like Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Dera Ghazi Khan were not being shifted and Sargodha was being deprived of this facility.

ROAD ACCIDENT: Two women were killed and 12 others were injured in a road accident on Sargodha-Phularwan Road on Sunday.

According to details, Ghulam Safdar, his wife and other devotees were travelling to Karachi in a wagon after visiting the tomb of their pir when a speeding tractor-trolley (SGD 8256) hit it near Dhori check post.

As a result, Rasoolan and Rashida died on the spot while Sadiq Bibi, Aasia Bibi, Sajida, Bashiran, Tahir Hussain, Tanveer Ahmad, Abu Bakar, Yasin, Aurangzeb, Isma, Khursheed Bibi and Ismat Tahira were injured.

The condition of four injured were stated to be serious at a local hospital.
