Indian firing continues

SIALKOT, April 1: The Chenab Rangers thwarted another Indian attempt of fencing near the Jammu sector of Sialkot’s working boundary here on Monday.

According to official sources, Indian security forces continued intensified firing on border villages in Chhumb Joriyaan (Gujrat), Bajwat, Charwa, Harpal, Sucheetgarh, Charpar, Jammu, Akhnoor, Saamba and Shakargarh-Narowal sectors, damaging seven more houses and disrupting sowing of sunflower, watermelon and melon crops.

The firing between the Chenab Rangers and the Indian security forces was continuing in the above-mentioned sectors till the filing of this report on Monday evening.

DIES ON ROAD: A trader was killed while his brother was injured in a road accident on the Sialkot-Daska Road near Raajokey village here on Monday.

Amjad and Javaid, residents of Awami Road, Daska city, were going to Chak Peero by a motorcycle. Near Raajokey village, their two-wheeler collided with a bus coming from the opposite side while overtaking a tractor-trolley. Amjad died on the spot, while Javaid sustained critical injuries. The injured was admitted to the Civil Hospital, Daska.

Daska Saddar police have registered a case against absconding bus and tractor drivers.
