JAMMU, March 31: Hardline Hindu groups launched a 48-hour general strike in occupied Kashmir on Sunday to protest an attack by Muslim suicide bombers on a temple that left at least 10 people dead.
Right-wing organizations such as the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and India’s ruling BJP joined ranks to enforce the strike, which closed down occupied Jammu’s bustling businesses and export centres until Monday.—AFP
