AJK judicial system being reformed


MIRPUR, March 31: In order to ensure the provision of quick and easy justice to the people, the judicial system is being reformed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir in the near future by making it more effective and prestigious.

This was disclosed by AJK minister for law and local government Raja Nisar Ahmed while speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office-bearers of the AJK Supreme Court Bar Association here on Saturday.

The federal law minister Dr Khalid Ranjah who was the chief guest on the occasion also addressed the ceremony besides administering oath to the newly elected office-bearers of the SCBA.

Raja Nisaar said that a committee comprising experts has been formed to bring necessary changes in the judicial system in AJK. He said that the state government intended to introduce more better judicial system before the upcoming budget of Azad Kashmir. He invited healthy suggestions and proposals from lawyers for the proposed plan for reformation of the prevailing judicial system and to replace it with more better system to ensure the quick and inexpensive justice.

The minister said no society could remain intact where the justice was not provided. He said that a person who did not take care of justice, is always considered to be cruel. He added that no good result could be expected if the justice was ruined in the society. He called for the provision of justice to ensure the complete success of a society.

The law minister said that an integrated strategy was being evolved to provide every possible facility to the lawyers, and the judiciary during the course of their professional duties. He said that the new court buildings, Bar rooms, and libraries are required to be constructed in Azad Kashmir.—APP
