SHIKARPUR, March 30: The Taluka council of Shikarpur demanded of the Sindh government to earmark funds for it to implement development schemes on union councils level as well as sanction special funds for development in Shikarpur town on the basis of population and number of union councils.

The council met here on Saturday with the convener, Syed Aijaz Ali Shah in chair.

The council discussed matters regarding development schemes, encroachment, sanitation and other problems of the union councils of Shikarpur Taluka.

The Taluka Council expressed its deep concern over the step-motherly attitude of the district council of Shikarpur adopted towards the development schemes of the Taluka council.

Members of the council have regretted that the district council had not issued tenders for development schemes sent by the taluka council of Shikarpur to the district council.

The council decided to discourage encroachment in the city.
