KARACHI, March 29: A jobless father of two committed suicide at his Gulshan-i-Hadeed home on Friday night.

The Steel Town police said Mohammad Zahid, 26, hanged himself in a room in his house. The family informed the police, who reached the spot and shifted the body to a hospital for autopsy.

The police said Zahid, a father of two, had been jobless for the past many months and could not meet his domestic expenses, which disturbed him mentally.

The family also told the police that Zahid had been suffering from depression for the past many days but he never hinted that he was thinking of committing suicide.

BODY FOUND: Decomposed body of a man was recovered near Edhi Village along Super Highway on Friday.

The police said that body of an unidentified man was recovered from the hillocks near Edhi village. The body was several days old and it was giving off stench.

The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem. Sources at the hospital said that the dead man was a drug addict. Later, the body was handed over to the Edhi Foundation for burial.

FIRE: Five rickshaw were partially damaged in a fire near Sindh hotel in Liaquatabad on Friday. The police said that a lady had rented out a small plot for parking of rickshaws near Sindh hotel.

On Friday morning, a fire erupted in parked rickshaws. However, people put out the fire before the arrival of fire tenders.
