PORTLAND (Oregon), March 28: Bonzi Wells scored 24 points and Dale Davis 19 as the Portland Trail Blazers recorded a 98-93 victory over San Antonio Wednesday to wreck the Spurs’s league season-high 13-game winning streak.

Portland also snapped a five-game skid against San Antonio and moved 1 1/2 games ahead of Minnesota for fifth place in the Western Conference.

Tim Duncan scored 34 points for the Spurs, who dropped two games behind Sacramento for the top spot in the West.

In Phoenix, Shawn Marion tied season-highs with 32 points and 18 rebounds and Stephon Marbury added 26 and 11 assists as the Suns brushed aside the Los Angeles Lakers 118-106.

Kobe Bryant had 36 points for the Lakers and tied an NBA season-high with 18 free throws.

Shaquille O’Neal had 23 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks but made just 10-of-21 shots and 4-of-15 free throws for Los Angeles.

In Charlotte, North Carolina, Jamaal Magloire scored 21 points and Jamal Mashburn just missed a triple-double with 20, nine rebounds and eight assists as the Hornets extended their season-high winning streak to seven games with a 111-104 victory over the Orlando Magic.

Charlotte matched its longest run of the 2000-01 season with an impressive offensive performance against Orlando, shooting 56 percent (44-of-78) from the floor and making 7-of-13 three-pointers.
