MINGORA, March 28: The police have failed to recover two kidnapped brothers despite the arrest of the two main accused in the case and District Nazim Dr Mehboobur Rehman on Thursday threatened to transfer the officials concerned if they are not recovered within 24 hours.
The Nazim, in a statement, expressed his grave concern over the incompetence of the Swat police. T brothers were kidnapped in the Shahi Bagh area in the jurisdiction of the Kabal police station.
He said occurrence of such incidents was unfortunate and unforgivable. It was said that the kidnapped were students, whose matriculation examination has begun, he added.
COMMITTEE FORMED: The district Nazim has taken strong exception to the alleged irregularities in the allotment of quarters in the labour colony.
He has constituted a six-member committee, comprising journalists, Nazims and councillors.
Councillor Naseem Akhtar has said that no woman worker was allotted a quarter and managers of some factories were residing in them. In a statement, she demanded that the district Nazim should take action against the wrongdoers.
ALLOTMENT FLAYED: The inhabitants of the Marghozar and Islampur valleys have expressed their concern over alleged illegal allotment of their land to others and threatened to stage protest demonstrations if their lands were not returned. Tanzim Awami Jamhoori Swat leaders demanded that the district government should order cancellation of the allotment.
