NAWABSHAH: Sacked mill workers want reinstatement

NAWABSHAH, March 26: More than 200 sacked workers of the Habib Sugar Mills (HSM) continued their token hunger strike against their retrenchment outside Nawabshah press club here on Tuesday.

Talking to newsmen, Qazi Najeeb, deputy general secretary, CBA union, the HSM, said that the protest would continue till the reinstatement of the sacked workers.

The leaders of different political parties and trade unions also joined the sacked workers in their hunger strike.

Those who joined the protest included Ghulam Qadir Chandio, president, PPP Nawabshah, Rao Faheem, Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Suroor Ahmed Qureshi, chief, Jamaat-i-Islami, Nawabshah, Ghazi Khan Bhutto, United Bank Limited Employees Union, Dur Mohammad Unnar, UBL Staff Union, Haji Anwar Baloch, Peoples Labour Bureau, Zulfiqar Mari, Sindh People’s Students Federation, and Kashif Haider, Sindh Peoples Youth.
