MANSEHRA, March 24: Dr Nasim Ashraf, Chairman of the President’s Commission on Human Development, has said the government has established the commission to improve the capacity of the district government in the social sector and to provide primary education and health cover to the people and eradicate poverty.

To achieve this target, he said, a trust fund had been established in which the Pakistani philanthropists across the world had been contributing huge amounts; and the people like Princess Sarwat of Jordan, ex-prime minister of Pakistan Moeen Quraishi and Abdus Sattar Edhi were patronising the trust.

He was speaking to the Nazimeen of district and tehsil councils and the councillors of Mansehra district at the District Council Hall here on Saturday.

The district Nazim of Mansehra, Mohammad Azam Khan Swati, and Naib Nazim Shahzada Gustasap Khan also spoke on the occasion.

Dr Nasim Ashraf, explaining the details of the trust, said it would not be in the clutches of the government and work independently and transparently.

The trust, he said, had been established with a seed money of Rs2 billion contributed by the government, whereas, $250 million had been contributed by the Pakistani philanthropists abroad.

He said the commission had decided to establish human development incubators in each district.
