JUI rejects proforma: Registration of seminaries

By Our Correspondent

TOBA TEK SINGH, March 23: Management committees of all the seminaries will be directed not to get themselves registered under the government’s present registration programme.

This was disclosed by Punjab JUI (F) secretary-general Maulana Rashid Ahmad Ludhianvi while talking to newsmen here on Saturday.

He said the registration proforma issued by the government for the seminaries was not proper and should be replaced with suitable proforma. However, the management committees had been allowed to get registered their mosques, he said.

Maulana Ludhianvi termed the proposed referendum unconstitutional and unacceptable to religious and political parties.

He also condemned the US senate for declaring the blasphemy law and Khatme Nabuwat amendment to constitution discriminatory, saying it was a clear interference in the internal matters of Pakistan.

Present military rulers were pushing the country towards secularism which was the negation of the constitution, he said.

Intelligence agencies were involved in recent terrorist incidents in the country for most activists of religious parties were already in jails, he added.
