KARACHI: Pakistan Day observed

KARACHI, March 23: The Pakistan Day was observed here with traditional zeal and enthusiasm.

Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro accompanied by members of his cabinet visited the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and laid a wreath and offered fateha.

Representatives of three services, City Nazim Naimatullah Khan and Naib Nazim Tariq Hassan also visited the mausoleum. People from various walks of life thronged the Quaid’s mausoleum to pay homage to the great leader.

Various organizations had chalked out different programmes in connection with the Pakistan Day.

The portraits of national heroes and leaders of the Freedom Movement were put on display at the National Museum.

Talking to workers of the Pakistan Movement at the mausoleum of the Quaid, Mr Soomro said the provincial government was working on a plan to set up a forum of the Pakistan Movement workers.

The governor paid tributes to the workers for their contribution in creation of Pakistan and said they were asset of the country.

He said the government was making efforts to interact with the workers to seek their guidance on various issues of national importance.—APP
