LAHORE, March 22: An accountability court on Friday dismissed Javed Hashmi’s plea for the transfer of his case to another court.
The acting PML-N president, facing a reference of building illegal assets, had submitted on March 12 that court of Abdul Ghaffar Khan discriminated against him by extending his remand. He submitted he could not expect justice from him.
After hearing the prosecution and defence counsel, the judge ruled that the court was not the forum to hear the application and hence dismissed it.
REFERENCE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a reference against former Punjab MPA and AJK MLA Mian Muhammad Rashid in an accountability court here on Friday.
The accused alleged to have made illegal assets worth Rs15.8 million is already absconding. The court has already awarded him two-year imprisonment in absentia under Section 31-A of the NAB Ordinance.
RECOVERED: The NAB recovered uniforms worth Rs70 million from the custody of a railway contractor, an accountability court was apprised here on Friday.—APP
