KARACHI, March 21: In spite of clear instruction by the Sindh Education Department that the academic institutions should not enhance tuition fees on their own, increases under this head are being effected unabated, inquiries show.

Parents continue to receive letters from schools in which different reasons are cited for fee increases.

A father received a circular on Thursday in which the management of a reputed school located on Rashid Minhas Road cited the upgradation and renovation of the school’s facilities as the reason for a substantial increase in the tuition fee.

Meanwhile, there are instances that schools are sending letters to parents asking for handsome amounts as donation under various heads.—APP
