Chinese deputy PM due today

ISLAMABAD, March 20: Chinese Vice Premier, Wu Bangguo, will arrive in Pakistan on Thursday on a four-day visit to attend the ground-breaking ceremony of the Gwadar seaport project.

Minister for Communication Javed Ashraf Qazi will receive the visiting dignitary at Chaklala Air Base.

During his stay here, the Chinese vice premier will call on President Gen Pervez Musharraf and hold meetings with ministers for communication and petroleum.

The president will host a dinner in honour of the visiting dignitary. Wu will also witness, along with the president, the ceremony of agreements/MoUs signing between China and Pakistan. —APP
