ISLAMABAD, March 19: Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Usman Aminuddin has said the government will make every effort to provide satisfactory and adequate security arrangement to the companies so that they can operate without any hindrance or fear.
Talking to a delegation of Pakistan Petroleum Exploration and Production Companies Association (PPEPCA) comprising the representatives of 12 companies on Tuesday, the minister said the contribution of exploration activities needed to be accelerated so that vast undiscovered hydrocarbon potential of Pakistan could be exploited.
He also emphasized the need for maintaining an interactive relationship between the companies working in the upstream and downstream sectors.
The delegation members were of the view that the investors needed comfort regarding viability of gaschain, fiscal incentives for offshore and frontier areas and security of their investments.
The companies suggested that the industry would bring out a paper for consideration of the government highlighting areas that needed to be discussed between the government and industry.—Our Reporter
